HD Korea Shipbuilding Wins $95.9M Carrier Order

On Tuesday, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co. announced that it has secured an order worth 127 billion won (approximately US$95.9 million) to construct two product carriers for a shipping company based in Canada, as reported by YNA

Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, a subsidiary of HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, will construct petrochemical product-carrying ships in Ulsan, South Korea. The undisclosed shipping company will receive the vessels by March 2025. HD Korea Shipbuilding has secured orders worth $10.48 billion this year, accounting for 66.6% of its annual target. The orders include 29 product carriers, three oil tankers, 24 container vessels, 16 LNG carriers, 14 LPG carriers, and two mid-sized gas carriers. HD Korea Shipbuilding is a sub-holding company of HD Hyundai, which oversees Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries.
