HD KSOE Wins $466m Order for Four Container Ships

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE) has won an order worth 689.6 billion won ($466.2 million) to build four container ships for an Oceania-based shipping company. The deal adds further momentum to the group’s strong contracting year.

Construction and Delivery Timeline

The vessels will be constructed at HD Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, with deliveries scheduled sequentially by the second half of 2028. The order supports steady yard utilisation over the coming years.

Orderbook Nears Full-Year Target

With this latest contract, HD KSOE’s total orders for the year have reached $17.33 billion across 122 vessels, equivalent to 96% of its annual target. The strong order intake highlights continued demand for large container tonnage despite broader market uncertainty.
