Hell Yeah, There are Women Marching Even in Antarctica

2271

If you haven’t heard, January 22 was the Women’s March on Washington.  At least 500,000 people marched in D.C. in solidarity the day after Donald Trump’s inauguration.  Hundreds of sister marches popped up across the country and internationally and photos are now emerging of the gathering held in Antarctica.

According to CNN, about 30 people on a ship in international waters off the coast of Antarctica held their own protest.  Organizers told the outlet the group consisted of both tourists and non-government scientists and researchers.  Though many of them held signs about women’s rights, others lumped penguins’ and seals’ rights too.

Anyway, I didn’t answer the question so poignantly posed by Outkast so long ago — what’s cooler than being cool is being ice cold and not letting that prevent you from standing up for what you believe it.  Or something.
