Improved Performance

HHLA CEO Angela Titzrath reported that despite geopolitical instability, a German recession, and supply chain disruptions, the company continued its strategic development in 2024. The expansion of their European network had a positive impact on revenue and earnings.

Here’s a breakdown of the financial performance:

  • Port Logistics subgroup:

    • Revenue: €1,562 million (a 10.8% increase from €1,409 million in the previous year)
    • Operating Result (EBIT): €118 million (a 26.8% increase from €93 million in the previous year)
    • Profit after tax and minority interests: €23 million (an increase from €9 million in the previous year)
  • Real Estate subgroup:

    • Revenue: €46 million (unchanged from the previous year)
    • Operating Result (EBIT): €16 million (unchanged from the previous year)
    • Profit after tax and minority interests: €10 million (a decrease from €11 million in the previous year)

The Port Logistics subgroup saw growth due to increased intermodal transport volume and higher storage charges from longer container dwell times in Hamburg. The Real Estate subgroup’s financials remained largely consistent with the previous year.
