HII (NYSE: HII) and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), recognized as two of the world’s premier shipbuilders, have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore collaborative efforts aimed at accelerating ship production for both defense and commercial maritime sectors. The agreement was signed at the Sea Air Space maritime expo, the largest of its kind in North America.

Leadership Remarks and Commitment to National Security

The signing ceremony was held at HII’s booth and attended by Brian Blanchette, Executive Vice President and President of Ingalls Shipbuilding at HII, and Won-ho Joo, CEO of the Naval & Special Ship Business Unit at HHI.

“Today’s agreement reflects our commitment to explore all opportunities to expand U.S. shipbuilding capacity in support of national security,” Blanchette remarked. “By working with our shipbuilding allies and sharing best practices, we believe this MoU offers real potential to help accelerate delivery of quality ships.”
