HKMW Signs Contracts For New Newcastlemax Bulk Carriers

Hong Kong Ming Wah Shipping Co., Ltd. (HKMW) has signed two Shipbuilding Contracts with Qingdao Yangfan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for the construction of two 210,000 DWT Newcastlemax bulk carriers. These vessels will incorporate scrubbers and energy-saving, environmentally friendly designs to comply with the latest environmental standards. The total construction cost is approximately RMB 1.05 billion, payable in five USD installments.

As a subsidiary of CMES, HKMW’s recent orders, including the eight Newcastlemax bulk carriers from Jiangsu New Times Shipbuilding, indicate a robust growth strategy. With a total of 10 new bulk carriers ordered, HKMW is positioning itself to meet increasing demand and improve its competitive edge in the global shipping industry.
