Höegh LNG has announced a name change and rebrand to Höegh Evi as it aims to look at providing support for a wider selection of marine fuel.

Energy vector infrastructure

The new name, which stands for ‘energy vector infrastructure,’ marks a change in the company’s outlook beyond its traditional focus on LNG (liquefied natural gas) import terminals. The company now plans to include clean energy solutions such as floating infrastructure for ammonia, hydrogen, and carbon capture and storage (CCS).

President and CEO Erik Nyheim explained that the rebrand aligns with the company’s aim to support the energy transition. ‘Höegh Evi will continue to be a leading provider of floating LNG infrastructure while also applying our skills and experience to bring marine infrastructure for clean molecules into operation by the end of this decade.’

Höegh Evi plans to remain a leader in LNG while also focusing on technologies such as ammonia cracking and hydrogen terminals. Morten W. Høegh, Chairman of the Board, Höegh LNG, stated that the new name ‘captures the expansion of our focus in response to new demands and the energy transition.’
