Hong Kong: Maisie Cheng Appointed As Director Of Marine Department

Michael Wong assumed the post as Director of Marine on February 27, 2014.  Now barely 18 months after his taking the post, he is stepping down to assume the post of Permanent Secretary for Development (Planning and Lands) at the end of this month.

Maisie Cheng will replace Michael Wong as the Director of Marine.  She has a rich experience as Director of Government Logistics in the past 2.5 years.  She has also served in various bureaux and departments including being Deputy Secretary for Transport and Housing (Transport) from February 2010 to June 2012.

54-year-old Maisie Cheng will assume post from 15th September 2015.

Commenting on the appointments, the Secretary for the Civil Service, Clement Cheung, opined: “The appointees are seasoned administrative officers with rich experience in public administration as well as proven leadership and management skills.”
