According to Reuters, Yemen’s Houthis announced on 1 November that it would uphold a maritime blockade against Israeli vessels in response to “intelligence information” indicating that Israeli shipping companies are transferring their assets to other entities, reports Safety4sea.

As reported by Reuters, Yahya Sarea, the military spokesperson for the Houthis, stated that “intelligence information confirms that many companies operating in maritime shipping affiliated to the Israeli enemy are working to sell their assets and transfer their properties from shipping and maritime transport ships to other companies.”

Ownership changes

Reuters reports that Sarea warned the Houthis would not recognize these ownership changes and cautioned against any cooperation with these firms.

To remind, United Kingdom Maritime Operations (UKMTO) reported on 28 October three explosions south of Al Mukha, Yemen, in close proximity of a merchant vessel, days later after Liberia-flagged Olympic Spirit was attacked by missiles.
