Total US cases have reached around the 32.9 million mark since the pandemic started, but the rate has been slowing down recently.
The United States is one of the world leaders in vaccination rates, particularly among nations with large populations.

EU open borders

After a year of closed borders, the European Union could open in June to fully vaccinated vacationers from countries with low Covid-19 infection rates.
But events in other parts of the world cast a shadow over the improving US outlook.
