Hyundai Samho to build one LNG carrier for about $247 million, reports LNG Prime.
Background
According to parent Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries resumes to win orders for LNG carriers and has secured a contract to build a single vessel.
KSOE said that the deal amounts to a whopping price of nearly 346.8 billion won or about $247 million.
Hyundai Samho will deliver the LNG carrier by January 2026 to an anonymous shipowner based in Oceania.
Key details
Hyundai Samho won an order for two 174,000-cbm LNG carriers back in June from Evangelos Marinakis-led Capital Gas for delivery in January and March 2026.
The shipbuilder also secured a contract to build two LNG carriers for Greece’s TMS Cardiff Gas which is to be delivered by August 2026.
Furthermore, Hyundai Samho recently also won a contract for two LNG-powered car carriers tied to Ray Car Carriers.
