Hercules Tanker Management (HTM) has marked a major milestone in sustainable shipping with the launch of HTM Harriet, the first vessel in its revolutionary ‘Ultra-Spec Series’. This initiative represents HTM’s commitment to greener marine fuel transport, showcasing innovation and environmental responsibility in global shipping operations.
A New Era of Sustainable Tankers
HTM, founded by John A. Bassadone the CEO of Peninsula introduced HTM Harriet in October 2025. The vessel began its maiden voyage from Southeast Asia, carrying a full load of B100 biofuel, reinforcing HTM’s promise to advance clean energy transport. The company’s new series includes 10 hybrid-ready, 7,700 DWT vessels built for global operations, capable of handling both traditional and alternative fuels such as biofuels and methanol.
Advanced Design for Efficiency and Emission Reduction
The ‘Ultra-Spec’ designation highlights the vessels’ sustainable design and cutting-edge technology. These ships feature diesel-electric propulsion systems, battery-ready configurations, and advanced hull designs that enhance fuel efficiency while reducing carbon emissions. Their flexibility enables HTM to adapt to evolving customer needs and fuel types, ensuring long-term environmental and operational benefits.
The launch of HTM Harriet marks the beginning of a transformative phase in marine fuel logistics. With more vessels scheduled for delivery through 2027, HTM is positioning itself as a leader in eco-friendly shipping solutions.
