A new grain handling terminal, located at Yanbu Commercial Port, commenced operations on December 22. Dedicated to the handling of feed grains, this facility significantly enhances the region’s grain storage and handling capabilities. The terminal has an annual handling capacity of 3 million tons and features 12 silos with a total storage capacity of 96,000 tons, reports The Maritime Standard.

Efficient Unloading System

The terminal is equipped with a 650-meter-long conveyor belt system, designed for efficient unloading of feed grains directly from ships. The system operates at an impressive rate of 800 tons per hour, streamlining operations and reducing turnaround times for vessels.

Inauguration Ceremony

The terminal’s inauguration was led by the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, accompanied by key stakeholders and officials. This facility represents a step forward in supporting Saudi Arabia’s growing agricultural and feed grain demands.
