The US Justice Department is examining on the airline prices and its reason

Big carriers such as American, United and Delta, along with some of the regional airlines, have reworked their operations to recover from the heavy losses that had incurred in 2008 due to US financial crisis. Carriers have made up with a lot of restructuring works with major unifications like the US Airways merging with American Airlines in 2013, United buying Continental in 2012, Southwest buying Airtran in 2011 and Delta purchasing Northwest in 2008.  In addition, the growth has been assisted by the falling fuel rates too. The Justice Department is now checking whether the airline companies are creating some unlawful hike in rates.  It has requested information from some airlines as a part of competition probe.  This news about the investigation made by the Justice Department hit the airline shares index.
