The Viking Sky Cruise ship carrying 1300 passengers was traveling to the southern city of Stavanger from Tromsoe in Norway on Saturday when it suffered engine trouble and drifted towards the rocky coast.

Following a mayday call from the ship 479 passengers were airlifted before the ship could be towed to a nearby port of Molde.

The USA Today published an inside peek into that battered cruise ship after it was rescued.
