Intellian, a leading provider of reliable and user-focused stabilized satellite antenna systems, will showcase its products at METSTRADE, the world’s largest trade exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine leisure industry.

RAI, Amsterdam will open its doors from 15-17 November to over 21,000 international marine professionals including yacht and boat builders, naval architects, designers, marina owners, marina suppliers, yacht captains and crew, marine industry consultants and charter boat operators.  METSTRADE offers exhibitors and visitors the opportunity to experience the latest innovation and developments in the sector from propulsion and navigation to safety equipment and communications.

The marine leisure sector is experiencing a period of growth as several factors influence its increase in popularity, worldwide.  A report by Koncept Analytics, ‘Global Leisure Boat Market Report: 2016 Edition’, has found that increasing GDP levels, increasing volumes of tourism, a rise in disposable income, decreasing fuel prices and improving adult participation in recreational boating activities are just a few factors behind this growth.  The report also concluded that the share of the recreational boating market is expected to grow at a higher rate in Europe in comparison with North America.

This rise in popularity in the leisure craft market is coupled with demand for highly reliable connectivity.  Vessel owners now expect the same degree of connectivity whilst on board that they receive at home for entertainment and business use.

Against this backdrop, Intellian will display its iSeries i5P marine satellite TV system, which debuted at last year’s METSTRADE event.  Its launch created a new size category of marine satellite TV systems and allows inland coastal craft across Europe as well as vessels in the Mediterranean cruise sector to experience higher performance over greater distances, whilst maintaining the aesthetic and physical requirements of their boat.  The system is optimised for the Astra satellites, and combines simultaneous reception for both ASTRA I and ASTRA II. The i5P’s design has eliminated signal quality issues that had forced users to specify larger antenna sizes.  It is the only sub-60cm antenna available on the market with this level of performance.

“METSTRADE is a pivotal show for Intellian,” explains Eric Sung, President and CEO of Intellian.  “The marine leisure market is on a growth path, and it is the kind of innovation that we see in the iSeries i5P that helps to solve challenges in this sector of the market. We look forward to speaking with our peers and customers to gauge the requirements of leisure craft users and how we can enhance their communications and entertainment experience on-board.”

Visitors can meet the Intellian team at booth 1.140.
