Alfa Laval PureBallast 3 Ultra is the latest ballast water management system (BWMS) leveraging the proven PureBallast 3 technology. This new system offers enhanced performance, power savings, and simplified installation, with deliveries starting in Q3 2025.

For shipowners operating in sediment areas, PureBallast 3 Ultra provides peace of mind with its enhanced performance. The new filter design minimizes clogging risks and includes a faster gear motor for improved backflushing efficiency, which can also be retrofitted to existing PureBallast 3 systems.
Energy Efficiency and Installation Ease
PureBallast 3 Ultra supports higher flow rates while using less energy than competing systems, achieving nearly 20% power reduction for certain flows. It features an expanded range of UV reactor sizes and integrates components like the Cleaning-In-Place (CIP) unit and pressure monitoring device into the UV reactor module. This design flexibility and smaller footprint facilitate installation for ballast water flows of 42–3000 m3/h, including Ex requirements.
