The Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) has secured agreements worth $86 million with domestic manufacturers. The contracts are for the construction of 10 vessels to enhance Iran’s shipping fleet, reports EN Port News.

Contract Allocation

Four vessels will be built by Sadra Neka Shipbuilding Industries. Arvandan Shipbuilding Industries will construct the remaining six vessels.

Negotiations for Additional Vessels

IRISL is in talks with another domestic manufacturer to finalize a contract for four more vessels. The additional vessels are valued at approximately $75 million.

Remarks from IRISL Head

Mohammadreza Modares-Khiabani, Head of IRISL, disclosed the contract details and allocation of vessels to respective manufacturers. These agreements signify a significant step in bolstering Iran’s maritime capabilities.
