Featuring a depth of 18 meters and a total length of 2,415 meters, Taiwan’s inaugural fully automated container terminal comprises five deep-water container berths and has the capacity to host four 24,000 TEU super-large container ships concurrently.
Equipped with unmanned vehicles; remote control; IoT network, as well as 5G and Artificial Intelligence systems, the new terminal will significantly improve operation efficiency.
“Evergreen will combine the operation of the fourth and fifth container terminals and transfer part of them to the newly opened seventh terminal, which will greatly reduce carbon emission and improve container handling efficiency,” an Evergreen spokesperson commented.
