  • Compact, modular thruster design enables easier hull integration and supports a wide range of vessel types.
  • Trunk-mounted installation allows onboard servicing, eliminating dry-docking and reducing operational downtime.
  • Improved efficiency and noise reduction through hydrodynamic blade optimization and increased propeller-to-tunnel clearance.

Kongsberg Maritime has introduced its latest innovation in marine propulsion with the launch of the TTH – Harmonised Series tunnel thrusters. These next-generation units are designed with a compact and modular architecture, offering improved performance, flexibility in installation, and seamless integration across a wide range of vessel types.

Innovative Design Rooted in Decades of Expertise

Backed by over 60 years of experience, the new TTH series is a culmination of Kongsberg’s technical know-how and customer-driven development. The harmonised design ensures easier hull integration, a reduced installation footprint, and increased operational efficiency. The modular approach allows a single core unit to support multiple propeller diameters, streamlining inventory and maintenance for shipowners.

Enhanced Efficiency, Reduced Downtime

Key enhancements include hydrodynamically optimised blades, which reduce noise and vibration while improving thrust efficiency. The increased clearance between the propeller blade tips and tunnel plating simplifies installation and minimizes erosion, further contributing to quiet operation. Additionally, the TTH thrusters are suitable for the highest Baltic and Polar Class ice ratings, ensuring robust performance in harsh conditions.

Adaptable for Modern Vessel Demands

Designed to meet the dynamic positioning (DP) and auxiliary propulsion requirements, the TTH series is compatible with both controllable and fixed pitch configurations. The units are also fully interchangeable with Kongsberg’s existing TT series, making them a versatile upgrade solution. Features like the optional Super Silent tunnel and trunk-mounted installation option enhance onboard comfort and allow for onboard servicing, eliminating the need for dry docking and reducing operational downtime.

Smart Maintenance with Support Pool Integration

The TTH series supports Equipment Health Monitoring and is part of Kongsberg Maritime’s Thruster Support Pool. This unique program provides vessel operators with access to a stock of refurbished thrusters, significantly reducing the turnaround time for maintenance and repair.

Initial Release and Technical Specifications

The first models in the TTH series are available with propeller diameters of 1650 mm and 1850 mm, supporting power outputs up to 1250 kW. This launch marks a significant step forward in marine propulsion solutions, setting new benchmarks for performance, maintainability, and operational flexibility.
