Kongsberg to Supply 34 Azimuth Thrusters for 17 Sanmar Tugs

Kongsberg Maritime has landed contracts to provide a total of 34 US azimuth thrusters for 17 new tugboats that Sanmar Shipyards, a prominent Turkish tugbuilder, is constructing. These thrusters will come in various power outputs ranging from 1765 kW to 2525 kW, boasting bollard pull capabilities between 60 and 85 tons, reports Kongsberg.

Strengthening a Long-Standing Partnership with New Orders

Sanmar Shipyards, which has nearly 50 years of experience and has delivered over 300 tugboats globally, has been a loyal customer of Kongsberg Maritime. Based in Tuzla and Altınova, Sanmar produces a diverse array of tugboat designs, including battery-electric, LNG-fueled, methanol, hybrid, and autonomous tugs, many of which are inspired by designs from Robert Allan Ltd.

34 Thrusters for 17 Tugs Confirmed
