KOTUG International B.V. has secured a contract to provide essential marine services for the Congo LNG project, located offshore the Republic of Congo. This project includes the Tango Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) unit and the Excalibur Floating Storage Unit (FSU), with a second FLNG under construction, reports KOTUG.
KOTUG’s Role and Responsibilities
KOTUG will deploy three advanced Rotortugs to support various operations such as mooring and unmooring of vessels, handling mooring equipment, and transporting pilots. These tugs will also provide stand-by services, antipollution efforts, and transport for oilfield goods and passengers.
The Rotortug’s unique triangular propulsion design ensures enhanced safety and precise maneuvering, offering over 80 tons of Bollard Pull with a high level of redundancy and cost efficiency.

About the Congo LNG Project
The Congo LNG project is focused on natural gas liquefaction with a zero-flaring approach to reduce methane emissions.
The first phase includes the nearshore Tango FLNG unit, which began production and exports in February 2024. The second phase will involve the installation of another FLNG unit offshore.
