Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (KSOE), has won orders for three ships worth 152 billion won, reports BusinessKorea.

About the contract

KSOE announced on Feb. 8 that it has recently signed a contract with Oceania-based shipping companies to build three ships.

This includes two 40,000-cubic-meter LPG carriers and one 40,000-ton petroleum carrier (PC).

In particular, the PC ship contract includes an option for one more ship of the same class.

Shipyard and delivery

The LPG carriers and PC will be built at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard and Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding, respectively, and will be delivered to the shipbuilder sequentially beginning from the second half of 2021.

The shipbuilding market is recovering in earnest for all types of ships, a KSOE official said.

We will lead the future eco-friendly shipbuilding market by steadily developing new technologies.

KSOE has won 23 of the 24 medium-sized LPG ships ordered worldwide since 2019.
