On September 7, a large cargo vessel got stuck under the Briton Ferry bridge for several hours. Coastguards monitored the ship but it was successfully refloated this morning.
A coastguard spokesman said: “We had a monitoring vessel running on it. It’s a flat bottom vessel.”
“They said they were waiting for the tide to come in and are waiting for it to go into the dock.”
“We were first told about the vessel at 1.22am. They were quite happy with the situation.”
“They booked a pilot for the morning. High water today was at 10.25am.”
No damage has been suffered to the boat, according to the coastguard.
