The ABS-classed Liza Unity has made history as the first floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit to receive the SUSTAIN-2 notation from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). This recognition highlights the vessel’s commitment to sustainability, emissions reduction, and human-centered design.

Advancing Sustainability Standards in FPSOs

  • Use of low-carbon fuels to reduce environmental impact.
  • Enhanced human-centered design for improved operational safety and crew well-being.

ABS’s Commitment to Sustainability
ABS Senior Vice President Miguel Hernandez emphasized ABS’s role in supporting clients with innovative solutions to address evolving environmental challenges. SBM Offshore COO Alex Glenn expressed pride in Liza Unity’s achievement, reinforcing the company’s commitment to reducing emissions and promoting life cycle sustainability.
