Lloyd’s Register Grants AiP To TideWise’s 24m Uncrewed Surface Vessel

Lloyd’s Register (LR) has granted Approval in Principle (AiP) to Brazilian company TideWise for its 24-metre uncrewed surface vessel (USV), designed for offshore subsea inspection at depths of up to 2,500 metres.

Key Features of the USV

Structural Integrity & Compliance – Meets LR’s control system standards for stability and reliability.
Autonomous Navigation – Equipped with advanced obstacle detection and collision avoidance systems.
Endurance & Efficiency – Can operate for 35 days with DP2 dynamic positioning capability.
Deep-Sea Operations – Deploys an electric remotely operated vehicle (ROV) for subsea inspections.
Eco-Friendly Design – Hybrid diesel-electric power with potential future hydrogen integration, reducing carbon emissions.
