On June 29, a 1,000-ton liquified petroleum gas tanker PATCHARAWADEE 12 exploded and injured four crew aboard the vessel, one said to be in critical condition after sustaining third degree burns.
The incident happened in Bang Pakong river mouth, Gulf of Siam, Thailand where the ship was undergoing a clearing operation of its tank for remaining gas vapor, after unloading its cargo at Bangpakong in central Thailand earlier that day.
For reasons still under investigation, there was a huge explosion and fire ensued from the incident hit four of the 10 crew aboard and were taken to Bangpakong Hospital.
The reports indicate that the ship was not badly damaged from the incident.
