The Beijing Mærsk comes with a dual-fuel engine, allowing it to operate on both methanol and traditional fuels. This innovative technology reflects Maersk’s larger goal of decarbonising its operations.

This impressive vessel was built in partnership with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and MAN Energy Solutions, both of which are pivotal in pushing for cleaner energy solutions in the shipping industry.
Vessel Specifications
Measuring 350 meters in length and 56 meters in width, the Beijing Mærsk has a lightweight of 49,800 tonnes. With a container capacity of 17,480 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units), it stands as one of the largest ships in Maersk’s fleet.
First Berth at Qingdao Port
Recently, the ship was spotted docking at Qingdao Port, one of the busiest ports in the world, marking the beginning of its active service.
