  • Maersk adapts the Eastern Australia Connect service amid delays from industrial action.
  • Maersk phases out CMA CGM Nantong and introducing CMA CGM Perth, with strategic port omissions and cargo planning for efficiency.

In a bid to enhance supply chain reliability, Maersk announces strategic adjustments to the Eastern Australia Connect (084) service amid ongoing DP World Protected Industrial Action in Australia.

Efficiency-Driven Vessel Changes

The decision involves phasing out the vessel CMA CGM Nantong and introducing the vessel CMA CGM Perth into MYTPP. These changes aim to optimize operational efficiency amidst external challenges.

Streamlining Operations with Port Omissions

In response to the current industrial action, two port omissions have been declared to streamline operations:

  1. GSL Christel Elisabeth 352S/403N: Omitting AUSYD, exclusively calling AUBNE.
  2. CMA CGM Perth (CC Nantong replacement): Sailing 401S/404N, omitting AUBNE and exclusively calling AUSYD.

Strategic Cargo Planning for Smooth Transit

Detailed cargo planning ensures minimal disruptions:

  1. Australia imports and exports are strategically transferred between vessels.
  2. Coastal cargoes (AUSYD to AUBNE and vice versa) are consolidated on CC Corneille 402S/405N for streamlined operations.
