What happened?
A fire broke out in the cargo hold of the vessel ‘Lintas Bahari 82’ when it was docked at the Mujuo Jeruju Warehouse Pier in Pontianak, West Kalimantan.
The fire is suspected to have originated from the cargo hold of the vessel.
Firefighters control blaze
The firefighters from the city of Pontianak, supported by firefighters from neighboring districts rushed to extinguish the fire.
The thick smoke billowing from the fire into the sky, hampered the rescue efforts of the firefighters.
About five hours later the fire was successfully extinguished and the vessel is being surveyed for further damages.
