Sales of traditional marine fuels at Rotterdam port marginally deceased by less than 1% on year during the first quarter of 2021, reports Manifold Times.

Sales of traditional marine fuels, namely fuel oil, marine gas oil (MGO) and marine diesel oil (MDO), at Rotterdam port marginally deceased by less than 1% (exact: 0.87%) on year during the first quarter (Q1) of 2021, according to Port of Rotterdam Authority data.
Traditional marine fuels
Traditional marine fuels during Q1 2020 bunker sales volume (versus on year) saw fuel oil at 1.86 million mt (1.90 million mt); MGO at 250,449 mt (344,270 mt); and MDO at 174,938 mt (62,392 mt).
LNG
Sales of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a marine fuel in Q1 2021 totalled 139,489 m3, a 294% jump from 35,426 m3 in Q1 2020.
Bio Bunkers
For the first time, Rotterdam’s marine fuel sales figures included the volume for bio bunkers; 49,120 of bio fuel oil and 3,305 mt of bio distillates were sold under this category during Q1 2021.
