The Marine Propulsion Awards 2019 will celebrate shipping’s engineering stars with
six new award categories being featured this year, reports Gavin Lipsith for Marine Propulsion.
Where and When?
The Marine Propulsion Awards 2019 is scheduled to takes place at the conclusion of day one of Riviera Maritime Media’s European Sulphur Cap 2020 Conference 8 May in Amsterdam.
Maritime Industry Invited To Nominate
- The industry is now invited to nominate its marine engineering team of the year as well as examples of excellence and innovation in condition monitoring, intelligent maintenance and autonomous and remote operations.
- There is also the opportunity to nominate products and services that set new benchmarks when it comes to alternative fuels and hybrid propulsion.
Outstanding Research & Development
The Marine Propulsion Awards 2019 will also recognise products, processes and systems that have advanced efficiency, emissions, engine design and vessel performance through vessel design. An outstanding graduate research project will also be recognised.
How will it be judged?
A judging panel consisting of some of the industry’s foremost experts will consider the nominations and produce a shortlist of three or four per category. These will be listed on the European Sulphur Cap 2020 Conference website for public voting. The winners in each category will be announced at the conference’s dinner.
The Plan of Action
- Nominations are open until 11 March through the official online form.
- Once again Riviera will recognise one individual for lifetime achievement in the sector.
- The winner will be selected by the Riviera editorial team.
The Marine Propulsion Awards 2019 will be presented on day one (8 May) of the two day European Sulphur Cap 2020 Conference.
