Mechanical Failure Disables German Freighter Off Saronic Gulf

According to a Maritime Bulletin report authored by Stepan Kotcherga, a cargo vessel ran into mechanical problems in the Saronic Gulf.

What happened?

The general cargo vessel ran into mechanical issues and was disabled off the Aegina island, Saronic Gulf, South of Piraeus.

The vessel was enroute from Piraeus to Port Marghera, Italy when it ran into problems.

Tug assists distressed vessel

The captain of the vessel issued a distress signal and the tug Karapiperis was quickly dispatched to assist the distressed vessel. The vessel was taken on tow and has been docked in Piraeus.
