In the latest edition of the organization’s World Bunkering magazine, the current Chairman Jens Maul Jorgensen of IBIA, has informed that Robin Meech will become the new Chairman of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA).
Meech, who is currently IBIA vice-chairman, will take up the role in March 2016.
Intertek ShipCare Global Technical Manager Michael Green, who was elected to the IBIA Board of Directors in February 2014, will replace Meech as Vice-Chairman.
Jorgensen wrote in his article regarding this succession, “I am delighted to hand over to such experienced and well respected people”.
Bunker quality has been a core theme of Jorgensen’s term as Chairman.
In October, he hit out at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), accusing the organization of having “no idea” of the market from the owner and operator side.
