- Meyer Werft has floated out Disney Treasure which is the second LNG powered cruise ship.
- Construction commenced in 2023 and the ship is still being worked on exterior finishing.
Disney Treasure is the second ship that is being constructed by Meyer Werft, a German based shipyard. It left the building dock and now berthed in harbor.
Disney Cruise Line
Meyer Werft has been building cruises for Disney since 2022. It first delivered Disney Wish in 2022 and currently working on Disney Treasure. Meyer Werft is also to deliver third ship for Disney called Disney Destiny in 2025.
Disney Treasure
Disney Treasure is an LNG-based low-emission propulsion cruise ship built for the US-based Disney Cruise Line. The ship is said to be the size of 144,000 GT and accommodates 1240 cabins. The keel for the ship was laid out in 2023. Meyer Werft has stated that they will be working on the final interior outfitting for the next few weeks.
Cruise Ship for Japanese Market
A Japanese company called Oriental Land Company (OLC) has commissioned Meyer Werft to build a Disney Wish-class cruise ship for Japanese market. OLC operates Disney parks in Japan and the new ship is expected to be delivered in 2028 and will be operational by 2029.
