MEYER WERFT has officially handed over its newest cruise ship, Disney Destiny, to Disney Cruise Line in Eemshaven, the Netherlands. The delivery occurred on schedule, marking the sixth ship MEYER WERFT has built for Disney Cruise Line. The first passengers are expected to board in November, promising a magical experience with the most complex and innovative entertainment facilities in the cruise industry.
Unmatched Onboard Experiences
Disney Destiny offers mythical adventures for families, featuring beloved Disney, Pixar, and Marvel characters. The ship includes exclusive entertainment like Disney Hercules, larger-than-life characters, spirited comedy, and legendary music from Walt Disney Animation Studios. Passengers can enjoy ten pools and water play areas on the upper deck, along with imaginative dining experiences. Restaurants like Pride Lands feature live musical performances retelling The Lion King during dinner, blending dining with immersive storytelling.
Strengthening the Disney-MEYER WERFT Partnership
The delivery of Disney Destiny reinforces the long-standing collaboration between MEYER WERFT and Disney Cruise Line. Their partnership began with the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, delivered in 2010 and 2012, followed by the Disney Wish in 2022, the first of the Wish class. Another sister ship is under construction in Papenburg, with delivery scheduled for autumn 2027. MEYER WERFT’s current order book spans eight cruise ships and two offshore converter platforms, extending projects into 2031.
Disney Destiny represents the next level of family entertainment at sea, combining innovative onboard features with immersive Disney storytelling. The ship’s delivery underscores MEYER WERFT’s continued expertise in cruise ship construction and its enduring partnership with Disney Cruise Line, paving the way for more groundbreaking vessels in the coming years.
