Qatar Navigation Q.P.S.C. (Milaha), the region’s premier maritime and logistics provider, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global shipbuilding giant Fincantieri.
The agreement marks a significant step in strengthening Qatar’s maritime industry by promoting technology integration, knowledge transfer, and sustainable development. It also supports the strategic objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, aimed at economic diversification and enhanced sovereign capabilities.
Partnership to Enhance Maritime Sovereignty
The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration in key areas such as marine services, project management, and advanced shipbuilding technologies.
This alliance is aligned with Qatar’s vision of developing autonomous industrial capabilities and a world-class maritime infrastructure. Milaha’s leadership emphasized that this partnership will foster localization and reinforce Qatar’s independence in critical maritime operations.

Similarly, Fincantieri CEO Pierroberto Folgiero reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the region, calling the agreement a pivotal move to bolster Qatar’s maritime sovereignty.
