The Islamic State-affiliated militant group has posted pictures in social media claiming that they have launched a missile attack on an Egyptian naval vessel near Sinai town of Rafah, which neighbours the Gaza Strip in the Mediterranean Sea.
The Egyptian officials say that a coastguard vessel caught fire after a firefight with militants on the shore. The army reports no casualties.
This incident is a worrying factor for shipping in the region.
