Japanese shipowner Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has sealed another long-term charter deal with compatriot power generation major JERA for a newbuild LNG carrier.
The 174,000-cu m vessel will be built at South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries, for delivery in 2027 and managed by MOL.
This is the sixth contract, following a time charter agreement for five LNG carriers that were signed with JERA.
Financial terms and charter duration have not been disclosed.
