Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) announced that its Singapore Sub-Headquarters, MOL (Asia Oceania) Pte. Ltd. (MOLAO), will participate for the first time as an Innovation Partner in the Smart Port Challenge 2025 (SPC)—a maritime innovation accelerator under the PIER71TM initiative. The 10-week program will begin in September 2025 in Singapore.

MOLAO will collaborate with startup participants to solve key challenges in the shipping industry, such as logistics optimization, decarbonization, and digital transformation, offering business development support and opportunities for proof-of-concept (PoC) trials.

MOL PLUS Continues Role as Investment Partner

Alongside MOLAO, MOL PLUS Co., Ltd. will return to the program for the fifth consecutive year as an Investment Partner. MOL PLUS will support selected startups through strategic investment and mentoring, helping scale innovative maritime technologies that align with MOL Group’s business areas.

Strengthening Global Innovation Through BLUE ACTION 2035

MOL’s participation in SPC2025 aligns with its long-term strategy “BLUE ACTION 2035”, which emphasizes regional collaboration and open innovation. The company has already deepened ties with Singapore’s Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) through a memorandum of understanding, and sees this initiative as a step toward expanding global innovation networks based in Singapore, a maritime hub.
