The mooring accident took place at Russian port of Kavkaz involving a Panama-flagged bulker TTM Dragon and Volgo Balt 237.

When the Russian cargo vessel was mooring to a floating crane next to the 55, 947-dwt TTM Dragon, the line snapped and struck the seafarer in the bulker.  This resulted in killing one Chinese crew member and injuring two others aboard the bulker.

The Russian port authorities are investigating the actual cause for the accident.
