Norwegian tonnage provider MPC Container Ships (MPCC) has successfully delivered NCL Vestland, the first of two methanol dual-fuel 1,279 TEU containerships. The vessel was built at Taizhou Sanfu Ship Engineering in China, representing a significant step towards sustainable shipping.

- Enova: NOK 13.7 million ($1.21 million).
- NOx Fund: NOK 60 million for emissions reduction.

- Embarks on a 15-year charter with North Sea Container Line (NCL), ensuring reliable operations along Norway’s coastline.

- Demonstrates MPCC’s commitment to low-emission shipping.

Future Deliveries
- NCL Nordland, the sister vessel of NCL Vestland, is scheduled for delivery in February 2025.
- MPCC owns 90.1% of the vessels through a partnership with Topeka MPC Maritime AS, a joint venture involving the Wilhelmsen Group and MPC Capital AG.
Context in Eco-Friendly Shipping
- In July 2024, MPCC took delivery of its final 5,500 TEU methanol-ready boxship, named Colorado, from South Korea’s HJ Shipbuilding & Construction. The ship entered a seven-year charter with ZIM Integrated Shipping Services.
