The MSC Group and Fincantieri recently held a special ceremony in Genoa to mark three important events for the Explora Journeys fleet. These included the delivery of EXPLORA II, the coin ceremony for EXPLORA III, and the steel cutting for EXPLORA IV.

MSC’s investment in the Explora Journeys fleet exceeds 3.5 billion euros, significantly impacting the Italian economy. This investment creates thousands of jobs and supports the local shipbuilding sector, with each ship requiring millions of work hours and involving about 2,500 workers over several years.

The Explora Journeys ships are at the forefront of naval design and technology. Four of the six vessels will be powered by LNG, with future plans to use bio-LNG and renewable synthetic LNG. The ships also feature advanced environmental and comfort certifications, including RINA’s “Green Plus” notation.
