MSC Cruises’ latest flagship, MSC World America, has successfully completed final deep-water sea trials, marking a major milestone ahead of its inaugural season from Miami to the Caribbean.

Final Sea Trials & Delivery

MSC World America recently completed its final sea trials in the Atlantic Ocean, testing engine performance, fuel efficiency, maneuverability, safety systems, and speed. The ship is undergoing final finishing touches at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France, with official delivery scheduled for March 27, 2025.

The ship’s naming ceremony will take place on April 9, 2025, at the new MSC Miami Cruise Terminal, before setting sail for its maiden voyage to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas.

Unparalleled Onboard Experiences

MSC World America spans 22 decks, measures 1,093 feet in length, and accommodates 6,762 passengers and 2,138 crew members.

Key offerings include:

  • 18 bars and lounges & 19 dining venues, including:
    • Greek restaurant Paxos and the first-ever Eataly at sea.
    • All-Stars Sports Bar – a game-day experience with classic American flair.
    • The Loft – a multi-purpose entertainment space for comedy, karaoke, and more.
  • Exclusive MSC Yacht Club, offering luxury accommodations and private dining.

Itineraries & Sustainability Initiatives

Starting April 12, 2025, MSC World America will operate 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, stopping at:

  • Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
  • San Juan, Puerto Rico
  • Costa Maya & Cozumel, Mexico
  • Isla de Roatan, Honduras
  • Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, The Bahamas

The ship’s LNG propulsion system enables future adoption of renewable fuels, while shore power connectivity and waste management systems contribute to lower emissions and eco-friendly operations.

Future Expansion

MSC Cruises continues expanding its fleet with:

  • MSC World Asia (2026)
  • Fourth World Class ship (2027, name TBA)
