Navios and Danaos Invest in Next-Generation Containerships

Navios Maritime Partners is purchasing four new methanol-ready vessels. Each vessel has a capacity of 8,900 TEU and costs $115.1 million. The new ships are scheduled for delivery from late 2027 to early 2028. They are intended for charter operations at a daily rate of $44,145 for 5.2-year terms.

Danaos Corporation’s New Order

Danaos, a non-operating shipowner, has ordered two new vessels from Dalian Shipbuilding Industry. These vessels are 7,500 TEU in size and are equipped with scrubbers and are methanol-ready. The cost per vessel is approximately $90 million, with a delivery timeline set for late 2027.
