The latest Ningbo Containerized Freight Index (NCFI), published on March 28, 2025, reveals varied trends across major shipping routes from the Port of Ningbo, reports Baltic Exchange.

  • Ningbo to Europe: The freight index decreased slightly to 866.25 from 871.91 the previous week, a 0.65% decline.
  • Ningbo to West Mediterranean: A more significant drop of 8.40% was observed, with the index falling to 1,182.75 from 1,291.15.
  • Ningbo to East Mediterranean: The index declined by 6.52%, reaching 925.78 from 990.38.
  • Ningbo to Middle East: Contrastingly, this route experienced a notable increase of 28.14%, with the index rising to 1,022.81 from 798.18.

The NCFI, compiled by the Ningbo Shipping Exchange and promoted by the Baltic Exchange, is reported every Friday at 1600 (Beijing time). It serves as a critical indicator of freight rate fluctuations and market trends for key shipping routes originating from Ningbo.
