According to Seatrade Maritime, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port handled 23.9 million TEUs in the first half of 2024, marking a 7.8% year-on-year increase. Cargo throughput reached 574 million tons, up 2.5% from the previous year, with domestic trading throughput at 3.04 million TEUs, an increase of 7.4%. The sea-rail combined transport volume also saw significant growth, rising 14.6% to 925,000 TEUs. The port’s revenue hit a record RMB14.44 billion, up 16.32%, while net profit increased 1.43% to RMB2.23 billion.
Strong Performance Across Multiple Sectors
Ningbo-Zhoushan Port saw robust growth across various sectors, including domestic trade and sea-rail transport. The port’s diverse operations in coastal and land ports have contributed to its record-breaking performance, positioning it as a key player in Zhejiang province’s logistics landscape.
Outlook for 2024
The port aims to handle 45.1 million TEUs and 1.115 billion tons of cargo by the end of 2024, continuing its upward trajectory. As the main operator of several coastal and land ports in Zhejiang, Ningbo-Zhoushan is set to further strengthen its market position with continued investments in port operations and infrastructure.
