This year, Nor-Shipping looks to take its conference program to new heights for 2025 with an ambitious line-up of events designed to keep pace with evolving ocean business opportunities. The 2025 version, taking place from June 2–6 in Oslo and Lillestrøm, Norway, introduces dedicated conferences on the topics of financing, LNG, and seabed minerals. According to Nor-Shipping Director Sidsel Norvik, these are in response to growing demand, highlighting both opportunities and challenges for future business potential, reports AJOT.
Must-Attend Events for Industry Leaders
Says Norvik, “We already offered what is widely regarded as a unique conference program, covering a huge range of issues, segments, geographical areas, and exceptionally high-quality participants. However, this industry never stands still. we want to ensure we cater for that; giving decision-makers ‘must attend’ events that deliver insights and added value impossible to get elsewhere.”
The new conferences aim to meet the demand for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration in emerging areas. “We see the demand for discussion, knowledge-sharing and collaboration on each of these three new topics, and believe these events can help steer the industry towards more informed choices and sustainable business development,” she adds.
A Robust Program of Quality and Quantity
The increased program still contains audience favourites like the Ocean Leadership Conference, where in 2023, prominent speakers included Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz, Andrew Forrest, and John Kerry. Other popular conferences include:
- Nor-Shipping Offshore Wind Conference
- International Ship Autonomy and Sustainability Summit
- Maritime Hydrogen Conference
- Offshore Aquaculture Conference
In addition, Blue Talks, 13-panel debates and topical talks on sustainable business development in the ocean space will be carried on throughout the week.
“People naturally think of the main exhibition when Nor-Shipping is mentioned,” Norvik explains, “but. it’s crystal clear that the conferences and knowledge-sharing activities we run are a very key, and growing, attraction for attendees gathering from across the world.”
Future-Proofing Ocean Business
Nor-Shipping 2025 is embracing the theme #Future-Proof, weaving this vision through all conferences and exhibitions. The event promises to be the largest in history with extended halls, more national pavilions than ever before including a large India pavilion and over 98% of exhibition stands already booked.
“There’s a tangible sense of excitement building,” says Norvik. “We can’t wait to welcome the world of ocean business to Nor-Shipping 2025 this June.” Speakers and further details of the individual conferences will be announced in the coming weeks, ensuring attendees have the latest information for this landmark 60th-anniversary edition.
