The First Nor-Shipping Offshore Wind Conference will focus on accelerating, enabling, and supporting the rapid development of offshore wind, with a wide range of industry professionals taking the spotlight to address the newest demands, innovations, and segment trends. The breakthrough project, a partnership between Nor-Shipping and Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP), will take place on June 7 at the primary Nor-Shipping exposition facilities in Lillestrm, Norway, as reported by Nor-Shipping.
Powerful participants
The half-day conference, which runs from 12 p.m. to 16 p.m., will combine presentations and panel discussions with active networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
Stuart Fitzgerald, CEO of Seaway7, Mikkel Gleerup, CEO of Cadeler, Alexandra Koefoed, CEO of Fred. Olsen Windcarrier, Kent Vinkel, CEO of Windspider, Hugo Bouvy, Managing Director of DEME Offshore, Tone Lunde Bakker, CEO of Export Finance Norway, and many others are among the participants who cover a wide range of offshore wind development, support, and service.
According to Jon Dugstad, Director Wind, NORWEP, the need for such a gathering is obvious.
Pathways to Success
He comments: “The ambition, and opportunity, with offshore wind is growing all the time, but we need to secure the pathways for translating that into business, and energy, reality. This conference will address key issues and trends, engaging global business leaders and experts to assess the optimal ways to unlock value.”
“We’ll be looking at the crucial role maritime has to play in enabling developments – highlighting critical offshore competencies and assets, such as those offered by NORWEP members – assessing how to get the supply chain primed for a rapidly progressing industry. The latest technologies, sustainability issues, capacity questions and the drives for efficiency will all be under the spotlight. We believe there’s something for everyone with an interest in this essential renewable energy sector.”
Crucial role
Nor-Shipping 2023, with the main theme of #PartnerShip, will host key sessions focusing on meeting the demands of a segment seeking higher, further, and faster maritime solutions. The event will explore trailblazing approaches for installation and operations, reducing the industry’s carbon footprint, and Norway’s role in supporting the maritime industry in Europe and beyond. Collaboration between Clarksons, Global Centres of Excellence, Ocean Technologies, and Maritime Cleantech will drive this initiative. Offshore wind’s importance in delivering sustainable energy supplies is emphasized, necessitating strong relationships and understanding diverse stakeholder demands. NORWEP’s collaboration with Nor-Shipping strengthens links between traditional maritime and energy partners, with the event expected to be a remarkable gathering showcasing the segment’s immense potential.
