Significant Impact

Alisha Fredriksson, CEO of Seabound, has been named the Young Entrepreneur of the Year by Nor-Shipping, a prestigious recognition highlighting her significant contributions to the maritime industry.

Sidsel Norvik, Director of Nor-Shipping, lauded Fredriksson, stating, “Alisha represents the very best of the next generation in ocean leadership—visionary, driven, and wholly committed to making a real-world impact.” Norvik specifically praised Fredriksson’s work at Seabound as not only innovative but also deeply aligned with Nor-Shipping 2025’s core theme of “#Future-Proof.” The recognition holds special significance as Nor-Shipping celebrates its 60th anniversary.

Rapid Progress

Alisha Fredriksson has rapidly garnered acclaim within the maritime industry since co-founding Seabound in 2021. Her company’s core mission is to address one of shipping’s most critical decarbonization challenges: exhaust emissions.

Under Fredriksson’s leadership, Seabound, a climate tech firm, has quickly developed and deployed innovative onboard carbon capture systems. Their efforts achieved significant success in 2023, with sea trials demonstrating the capability to capture up to 80% of CO₂ emissions on a 3,200 TEU container ship. Adding an innovative twist, Seabound has also proven the viability of transforming these captured vessel emissions into solid limestone for potential reuse.

Fredriksson’s pioneering work has earned her widespread recognition, including prestigious spots on the Forbes 30 Under 30, MIT Innovators Under 35, and the Women In Change Awards lists.
